Santa Maura Castle lies at the entrance of Lefkada and is one of the most impressive medieval buildings in Greece. Originally built by a Sicilian count in 1300 to control access to the island, it is now open to day visitors and the small church within its walls is often used for Orthodox wedding ceremonies.
Vicky grew up on the island so a wedding at Santa Maura Castle was a natural choice. On the day of the wedding, Grigori got ready at the Santa Maura Hotel, while Vicky got ready at her family home.
The bride made her grand entrance accompanied by a traditional band, as well as all her friends and family. After making her way through the castle grounds, she met her groom and the rest of their guests at the door of the church.
After their ceremony, the couple had their portraits taken in the grounds of the castle, making the most of the beautiful ruins and sunset light. Before joining their guests at Ionian Blue Hotel for dinner and dancing into the early hours of the morning.
