This Royal Naval College Engagement was one of my most relaxed sessions ever. I remember the first email I got from Ming. I remember reading it thinking she was just so lovely and excited about getting married to Gavin. A few days after her initial email we had a meeting over Skype, and at the end of our meeting I was just as excited as she was!
Tomorrow I will be getting on a plane to London to shoot their wedding and I can’t wait to see these two again. Their engagement session took place at the Royal Naval College in Greenwich. The building is stunning and is the architectural centrepiece of Maritime Greenwich, which happens to be a World Heritage Site. The Royal Naval College also happens to be a stone’s throw from the couple’s wedding venue; The Cutty Sark!
After taking a walk around the clipper (I can promise you it will be a wedding to remember), we took a walk through the grounds of the Royal Naval College. They told me how they had met whilst sailing yachts around the world and then how Gavin later proposed right in front of the Cutty Sark – hence making it the perfect place for them to tie the knot.
It was a windy and chilly morning with thankfully no rain. The weather didn’t stop us from exploring the walled cafe’s and enjoying the gorgeous architecture of the Royal Naval College – all whilst taking some lovely relaxed photos.
I am looking so forward to taking more beautifully relaxed photos of Ming and Gavin as they say ‘I do’ and celebrate with their friends and family next weekend.
If you’re considering having your own engagement shoot, I would love to be considered as your photographer. This is such a special time in your life, why not remember it with photo’s you can cherish in years to come. Get in touch if you would like to know more.
