In May last year, I shot a wedding in Hampshire. It was a beautiful day and as part of the evening entertainment, the couple had booked a Mariachi Band to kick off the party. They were fantastic and as I was packing up my things to leave, we all got chatting.
Months later, when I arrived back in London after my 6 months of travel, I received a message from Adrian, the lead singer. He was getting married and wanted to know if I would cover his London wedding.
Two weeks later (yes only two weeks!!!), on a chilly day in early December, I wrapped up warmly and I made my way to Ealing, camera in hand. I was picked up at the station by Adrian himself, dressed and ready to go.
What I loved most about this wedding was that it was probably the most relaxed wedding I’ve ever shot – and it was all them. This couple did everything their way and it was awesome!
The groom rocked summer pastels and a patterned shirt for his winter wedding (like only a Mexican man can). While Moema, his beautiful bride, wore a 50’s style dress which she borrowed from their neighbours. It took the couple 2 weeks to plan their wedding. As both the bride and groom come from South America, their families couldn’t be there, but that didn’t mean there was any less love in the room.
I asked Adrian about how he met Moema, and he told me, “I saw her at the gym. She was doing a Zumba class. I watched her dance and that was just it!”
Sometimes you just know…
These are some of my favourite images from their day.
