Amsterdam, the city of canals, cyclists and tulips… and last year in September I got to visit for the second time.
The first time I went to Amsterdam I fell in love with it’s pretty streets and canal side cafe’s and restaurants. I loved the sound of bicycle bells and eating stroopwafel’s in the morning (if you don’t know what they are, I’m not explaining. You need to get yourself some – just do it and thank me later!). However, I never got the chance to do a canal cruise. So this time it was on the top of my list of things to do.
I was lucky enough to have a beautifully sunny day and, after lunch and a bit of a wander with a friend, we got to do an eco-friendly, open topped tour. Seeing the city from a canal boat gave me a completely different perspective and made for fantastic photos from angles I would never have been able to get to otherwise.
We ended the day exploring one of Amsterdam’s many markets. As with most cities in Europe, it’s my firm belief that the best way to see them is go just go and get lost (and on this occasion, book yourself on a canal boat tour too!). These are some of my favourite photos from the day.
