Today I’m excited to be sharing Melanie and Vasilis’ Ithaca Greece wedding. This wedding is special as not only is it my first destination wedding of the year, but Melanie is one of my oldest and closest friends.
When I arrived in London – almost 6 years ago now – it was Melanie who met me at the train station on my first weekend, ready to show me around. About 3 years later, it was me meeting her at the station, this time to say goodbye as she had decided to move to Greece to embark on new adventures. Then came Vasilis, followed by a rather gorgeous ring about 3 years later.
They tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in South Africa which I sadly couldn’t make it to. However, when they asked me to join them in Greece to photography their Greek reception and celebrations, I jumped at the chance!
So after a day and a half of travel which involved taking a train, a plane, catching 3 taxi’s, 2 buses and a ferry, I finally arrived on the stunning isle of Ithaca. It was breath-taking! As for the wedding, all I can say is… it was the most beautiful location, they are the most gorgeous couple and they had the most fantastic celebration – right into the early hours of the morning.
To my precious friends Mel and Vasilis, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your special day. May your life together be filled with love, happiness and dancing! x
